Man in hospital following stabbing in Blyth

A 20-year-old man is in hospital following a stabbing in Blyth this morning.

Police were called to a flat in Abbotsford House in Blyth at 1.15am on Wednesday, January 22, where they found a man with stab wounds.

It is believed the assault took place inside the flat. The offender left the scene after the attack.

The injured man was taken to hospital where his condition is described as critical but stable.

It is believed the two men are known to each other.

Police are carrying out enquiries in the area and additional officers are on patrol to reassure the community.
