I would like to thank the surgical staff at Alnwick Infirmary for the knee surgery performed so carefully over the festive season.
Staff were professional, kind and dedicate. They compromised their own seasonal festivities to provide their excellent service.
But none of the army of NHS managers and administrators were visible. Only the lady receptionist who worked tirelessly and efficiently on her own.
Of course, the red tape was evident with forms to be filled in, but the staff worked on without complaint. They told me they do the job because they love it and it shows.
And the comfortable managers and administrators? Well now, does our NHS not deserve less managers and administrators and just more dedicated front line medical staff?
