Youngsters at a county school have taken part in two workshops with the Royal Marines.
Colour sergeant Mike Beaton and marine Harry McLinton carried out the workshops with the Bedlingtonshire Community High School students from Year 10 food technology and sixth form hospitality students.
The workshops covered healthy eating, the importance of a balanced diet and why to avoid energy drinks.
Raising achievement leader, Fiona Mather, said: “The marines also gave students an insight into careers within the Royal Navy and Royal Marines, which gave lots of food for thought.
“Students then worked alongside the marines to prepare and create a delicious healthy meal.”
