A fundraiser running across Australia to raise money for two charities close to his heart is continuing with his challenge.
Mark Allison, aka Run Geordie Run, planned to run across the country from Perth to Bondi Beach in Sydney to raise money for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and The Children’s Foundation.
But last Friday he announced he would be stopping the challenge on safety grounds, just 180-miles from the finish.
However, within a few hours he had changed his mind and planned a new route to finish in Shellharbour, reducing his run by 40 miles.
Mark, of Blyth, had been battling with soaring temperatures, injured feet and dangerous road conditions.
But after stopping in Yass, he received treatment to his feet and re-started his run on January 1, with his expected arrival in Shellharbour set for January 3.
