Medals success for Battlehill Judo Club at Goole competition

Students from Battlehill Judo Club travelled to Yorkshire to compete in the Goole Judo Championship.

Members of Battlehill Judo Club who took part in the competition in Goole.

Maddox Fuller and Joe Carroll fought well in the largest group of the day, the U12 boys’ u34kg category.

Josh Stoneman and Josh McKeown both took silver medals in the u55 and u60kg groups respectively, McKeown competing in five contests to reach the final.

Sean Young and Kieron Hardaker fought in the u50 and over 66kg groups.

Eight-year-old Charlie Hutton had four hard fights in U12 years’ u25kg category and secured the bronze, whilst sibling Ellie Hutton powered through her group, winning three fights with maximum score to gain gold in the u36kg.

Jenni Francis repeated Ellie Hutton’s achievement, also winning three from three in style to take the gold medal.

Brown Belt Kieran Tweedy and Black Belt Leah Anastasi both won all of their contests by Ippon (maximum score) in the senior men u66kg and senior ladies u70kg categories to each secure gold medals and 20 points each towards their first and second degree Black Belts.
