Mountain biking teenager taken to hospital with facial wounds after colliding with tree near Wooler
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) was called to an area of Wooler Common just after 3.30pm yesterday, Saturday, July 11, following the crash.
Its medics were joined by the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team and the North of Tyne Search and Rescue Team as they helped the teenager to safety.

Hide AdA spokesperson for NEAS said: “We were called at 3.37pm on Saturday to attend a teenager who had come off a mountain bike on a steep hill and collided with a tree in the area of Wooler common.
"He was treated for facial injuries and, with the assistance of Northumberland National Park mountain rescue and North of Tyne mountain rescue, the patient was put on a spinal board and collar as a precaution before being taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital by ambulance.”
