A mum of three is celebrating after being winning a blog award for her website about being a parent in the north east.
Samantha Rickelton, from Cramlington, won the prestigious North East Blogger of the Year title.
It was presented at the inaugural North East Blogger Awards for her North East Family Fun blog.
Launched by Newcastle PR agency O PR, the event also included categories for food, sports, beauty, lifestyle, parenting, business, style, travel, student and best newcomer.
Samantha said: “I’m still on a high.
“I absolutely love blogging and think it is something I will probably do in some shape of form for the considerable future.
“It is my creative outlet, a place that challenges me, a place where I feel a strong sense of community, a place to record precious memories and photographs and definitely something I feel proud of.
“Nobody realises how much goes into a post until they blog themselevs, so it is lovely to receive recognition.
“Thank you so much to everybody who reads my blog.”
O PR managing director Kari Owers said: “We were astounded at the amount of blog nominations which ran into the hundreds and hundreds, and picking winners was very difficult as the breadth and quality of blogging in the north east is obviously really strong.”
Mum of one Hannah Parker, from Blyth, won the ‘Best Parenting Blog’ title for her blog Mum’s Days.
