MORPETH has a new neighbourhood sergeant.

Sergeant Sharon Wilmore-Greaves brings with her a wealth of experience to the sector post.

She has been with the force for nearly 20 years, working in North Tyneside, Newcastle and Northumberland as well as various force departments.

And one of the first changes she has made is to re-align the community support officers with a neighbourhood beat manager.

Sgt Wilmore-Greaves, pictured, said: “Towns and villages across the sector will now see more of their neighbourhood team members and will have another point of contact who works closely with the neighbourhood officer in their area.

“I’m keen to hear the concerns of Morpeth’s communities so the neighbourhood team can target local issues and manage expectations.

“Morpeth neighbourhood policing team will provide a highly visible presence in towns and villages, working with the different communities to find out what their concerns are so we can provide a quality service.”

A number of community engagement days are being planned across Morpeth and surrounding area which will be advertised on
