Ten new workshops within Wansbeck Business Park, in Ashington, aim to attract small businesses and new local businesses, giving them a boost to grow and create new jobs.

Wansbeck Court – delivered by Arch Commercial – is made up of four 69sq m units and six 46sq m units.

The units will help to create an estimated 12 local jobs and officials are expecting the workshops will be fully occupied within the first two years.

Coun Dave Ledger, chairman of Arch, said: “The delivery of the Wansbeck Court units through Arch is great news for start-up businesses, providing the perfect platform for them to progress and grow.

“The workshops are based in a thriving area, surrounded by many successful companies on Wansbeck Business Park, including Polar Crush, Raytec and the new Marstons family restaurant which opened last year.

“The site is also within walking distance of local shops and the development of Portland Park, which includes the new HQ for Northumberland County Council, retail facilities and a leisure centre.”

The new workshops are planned to be complete by summer of this year.
