Concerns have been raised about a decision to impose car parking charges at a county train station.
From May 18, Network Rail will impose charges on people parking at Cramlington train station, creating the only place in the town where motorists will be charged to park.
Coun Wayne Daley said: “This car park is already packed to capacity during the week and I am very concerned that imposing charges may mean some people decide to park on local side streets and at the already full Manor Walks site to avoid paying the charge.
“There are already concerns over cars parking on pavements in front of the Royal Mail offices, bungalows and on grass verges because the car park is so busy.”
There will be a daily parking charge of £2.
