A new directory for young carers in Northumberland has been launched.
VoiCeS Northumberland has launched a new website, including a directory for young carers under the age of 18 whose life is in some way restricted because of the need to take responsibility for the care of someone.
In response to young people’s requests for more information for those who have a caring role at home, VoiCeS-Northumberland has gathered information about services and support available to young carers and has presented this as a directory of support.
This directory is designed to be used by young carers, their families and others who want to find out more about local support available and is available online at www.voices-northumberland.org.uk/young-carers/
Caroline Friend, VoiCeS development worker, said: “It is so important to families that they are able to find the support that they need in their local area.
“By using the area-based directory, young people and their families will be able to receive up to date information about local services and support.”
