Another event in aid of Cramlington resident Melanie Hartshorn is taking place on Saturday at New Delaval and Newsham Workmen’s Social Club from 7pm.

The iKandies cabaret group run a charity show one or two times per year. All members are unpaid for these events and venues provide the room for free so all money raised goes directly to the good cause.

Last year, Melanie’s Mission To Live was chosen. The event contributed to the total, which ended up being more than £150,000, for her to have two operations in Spain that were urgently required as the result of having a severe form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome.

This year’s Dancing Through The Decades show to help with costs for an on-going rehabilitation programme, covering the 1920s onwards, includes dancing, acting and singing.

Tickets, £3 per person, can either be purchased on the door or booked in advance to also receive a free raffle ticket.
