Two new retailers have been signed to the Manor Walks Retail Park development in Cramlington.
Dixon’s Retail has taken a 975m² unit for a 2-in-1 superstore for its Currys and PC World brands.
And homewares specialist Dunelm Mill will also open a store in the extended retail park, with a 3,530m² store.
The refurbishment of the retail park is part of Hammerson’s wider plans for Cramlington, which include the leisure redevelopment of Manor Walks Shopping Centre, anchored by VUE which opened in July 2013.
The latest lettings take the development to 72 per cent let by floor space, which will be anchored by Marks & Spencer with a 1,486m² Simply Food store.
All the signings are taking retail space in the town for the first time.
James Rowbotham, development manager for Hammerson, said: “There is a significant gap in major retail brands in Cramlington which our redevelopment of both the shopping centre and retail park at Manor Walks has been able to address. “There is strong consumer demand and by widening the town’s retail offer we are confident of capturing growing retail spend.”
Dunelm Mill chief executive Nick Wharton said: “We are always excited about the opening of a new store.
“It takes a lot of hard work, investment and commitment getting a new store up and running and we are delighted to bring our extensive range of homewares items to Cramlington for the very first time.
“We are confident that the Manor Walks Retail Park will play a valuable part in the continued success of the company.”
Work has started on site with Dunelm and Dixon’s Retail expected to be open for Christmas 2013 and Marks & Spencer in spring 2014.
