Newcomer Julie-Anne takes first place in Summer Cup run
Running Club recently held the first race in their Summer Cup, a series of five 2.5-mile races following a route using the promenade and the beach path.
The races are handicapped so that every runner has an equal chance of winning, and nearly 60 started and finished the race.
Several runners were running the race for the first time and it was one of the newcomers who was first back.
Julie-Anne Jobling took the lead in the final 50 metres and won by two seconds from second placed Heather Barrass, while Calum Storey set the fastest time of the night in third place, with Heather Christopher the fastest female.
Thanks went to the organisers, marshals, timekeepers and helpers.
