Winning the toss and batting, Dunn and Adam Nichol got the visitors off to a solid start and put on a partnership of 107 for the first wicket before Dunn was caught behind for 60.

Prudhoe soon came and went for 12, but from then on Ashington quickly accelerated the run-rate and took advantage of Lintz’s small ground.

Robinson made a quick-fire 38 before opener Nichol made his first ever century for Ashington in what was a disciplined knock of 102.

After Tom Common’s unbeaten 33 at the end, Ashington reached a massive 270-6.

Lintz were up with the rate in reply before Common got the breakthrough with the score at 60-1.

Lintz captain and wicketkeeper batsman Olly Cameron then blasted his way to 125, despite being dropped twice in the field.

Shortly after he was caught behind off the bowling off Matthew Collins not long after appearing to be out the same way, but wasn’t given by the umpire.

No Lintz batter could support Cameron at the other end, however, and eventually finished on 238-7 from their 45 overs giving Ashington the win.
