North Shields to Amsterdam ferry rolls out a new pizza restaurant

Award winning ferry operator, DFDS Seaways, has launched a new pizza restaurant, Little Italy, on board its two cruise ferries that sail between North Shields and Amsterdam.

The launch follows the success of the concept on one of the ferries, King Seaways, which has proven to be particularly popular with families and young couples.

The Italian-style restaurant is the latest addition to the cruise ferries’ range of onboard restaurants, each serving delicious fresh food.

The Little Italy menu includes a selection of freshly prepared pizzas, such as Margherita, Prosciutto e Fungi (ham and cheese) and Diavola (spicy Italian salami), as well as popular pasta dishes spaghetti Bolognese and mushroom tagliatelle.

“In addition to Little Italy, we also have the Explorer’s Steakhouse, which serves delicious, juicy steaks sourced directly from a small ranch in the United States.

“In our all-you-can-eat 7 Seas buffet restaurant, guests can choose from a wide range of freshly prepared dishes, including a kid’s station laden with favourites such as chicken nuggets, chips and peas.

“Or, for those wanting a more refined dining experience, our à la carte restaurant, the Blue Riband, should hit the right spot.”

The Blue Riband spring menu has also just been introduced on board. Diners can now choose from a range of mouth-watering seasonal options, including sea bass served with red chicory, pork tenderloin with a herb crust or braised pulled lamb shank with garlic mash. There is also a new vegetarian menu, offering delicious dishes such as mushroom risotto and cannelloni filled with spinach, mushrooms and ricotta cheese.

All food on board is freshly prepared by DFDS Seaways’ trained chefs, including an extensive hot and cold breakfast selection with pastries prepared by the onboard baker.
