A youngster from south east Northumberland is preparing to lose her locks to raise money for charity.
Eight-year-old Olivia Hurst, from Seghill, will be getting her hair cut at RubyBlue Hairdressers in Cramlington on Saturday, May 9.
She will be raising money for the Charlie Bear Children’s Cancer Fund in Newcaslte, and will also be donating her hair to The Little Princess Trust.
After learning that some children who are poorly lose their hair, Olivia asked if she could do something to help, and asked to have her hair cut to help them as her hair will soon grow back.
Olivia has already raised more than £400 for the charity and is looking forward to donating her hair to The Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children who have lost their hair to cancer and other illnesses.
