Staff are preparing to saddle up for an epic challenge to raise money for a cancer charity.

Employees at Cramlington-based HTL Group will cycle 140 miles over two days for the annual challenge in aid of Jessica’s Sarcoma Awareness, which supports local children and teenagers battling cancer.

The charity was set up by the family of Cramlington teenager Jessica Robson, who lost her battle to the rare form of cancer Alveolar Sarcoma, at the age of 18.

The charity’s mission is to achieve Jessica’s dream of building a respite lodge for families and children who are battling cancer.

Each cyclist has a sponsorship target of £100, with the previous cycling challenges raising a total of more than £11,000.

Julie, Trevor and Nicole Robson said: “Jessica has left such a legacy through all of her hard work to fight this horrible disease, her inspiration is continued every day through everyone that knew her.

“HTL unfortunately didn’t get the pleasure to meet Jess but her inspiration has driven this lovely team of people to take on another challenge in her memory.

“For the last four years, these guys have come together to raise funds and awareness for Jessica’s charity.”

The challenge will see participants set off from Edinburgh Castle on June 30 and finishing at HTL the following day.
