A children’s charity is looking for people from south east Northumberland who are looking to do something different in their lives by becoming a foster carer or adopter.
Barnardos North East is looking to hear from anyone who would like to find out more, and is holding an open evening in Blyth.
The open evening will be held on Wednesday, October 15, between 6pm and 8pm at Barnardo’s project The Point, 45-49 Bowes Street, Blyth, NE24 1EB.
Angela Tatum, fostering and adoption manager for Barnardo’s in the North East, said: “We want to encourage people who may never have considered fostering or adopting to think about what they have to offer.
“There is no doubt that it is a major step, it can be hard work and very demanding, but the rewards can be immense.”
Angela said: “We are looking for people who will help children get the best out of life, be supportive of them at school, encourage them to do well and be advocates for them.
Anyone interested in adoption can contact Barnardo’s Adoption and Fostering Team on 0191 492 9000, or simply turn up at the open evening.
