Groups supporting their neighbourhoods and communities have again been asked to apply for money from the Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner’s Community Fund.
Launched earlier this month by Vera Baird, the 2016/17 fund is available to group activities or projects supporting key priorities in her Police and Crime Plan.
Grants of up to £2,000 are available to charities, voluntary groups, community groups and social enterprises tackling anti-social behaviour, promoting crime prevention and building community confidence in the Northumbria Police area, which includes Northumberland.
Mrs Baird said: “By helping these groups and projects to deliver local solutions to local issues, it further supports my plan by providing crucial assistance to the work being carried out by the force.”
The closing date for applications is Friday, May 13.
