Panto’s cash for charity

A special pantomime performed last month has raised £1,000 for charity.

The Blagdon Amateur Thespian Society (BATS) performed Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Cramlington Community Centre at the end of January.

And the group, directed by Tony Livesey, raised £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support from their performances.

Sarah Goldie, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in Northumberland and North Tyneside, accepted the cheque from the group.

“Thank you to Tony, the cast, and all of the people who made this panto happen,” she said.

“They believe in the cause of Macmillan and without people like them supporting Macmillan we would not be able to make sure that no one faces cancer alone.

“Thank you to all of the local community who attended the panto for their generosity.”
