PARKING: Some other priorities

editorial image

I wish to write in response to a letter complaining about car parking at Blyth Sports Centre, (News Post Leader, April 26).

The writer has asked the council to look into the lack of spaces to park cars.

I think it should consider the lack of car parking facilities at Blyth Hospital and the doctors’ surgeries in the area. I feel this is far more important than leisure.

We must take into consideration that the older persons in Blyth, whom may have walking difficulties and find it very hard to park, may have to walk quite a distance to reach their appointments on time.

I was delayed for appointments on more than one occasion due to the lack of car parking facilities.

The council needs to review this matter.
