If everyone takes the attitude expressed by Alan Jepson (News Post Leader, letters, July 31) then the developers win every time.
Maybe that is what they are relying on – general apathy that is so prevalent these days?
Or perhaps people believe that this development will not affect them?
A development of this size will affect everyone in New Hartley.
I wonder if the corespondent had registered a view on the application with Northumberland County Council?
If he took time to take note of what is happening he would realise that a lot of people in New Hartley do not agree with this development and are prepared to put in the time and effort to make it totally unacceptable for large corporations to bulldoze small communities.
Come and join in and attend a proper public consultation meeting with representatives of Barratt, David Wilson Homes, and Northumberland County Council, at 6pm, on Tuesday, September 8, in New Hartley Memorial Hall.
