A family-friendly fireworks display is planned for bonfire night in Blyth, and it will be free to attend.

On-site festivities, which will include a fun fair and a variety of food traders, will kick off at 4pm on Saturday, November 5, with the fireworks themselves starting at 7pm.

“It brings thousands of families together for the evening to witness an amazing display.

“We encourage people to make their way to the event in good time as, due to safety considerations, there will be no onsite car parking at the Mermaid Car Park and the site will be fully closed from 4pm.

“If you need a disabled parking pass please email our events team.”

Citing safety reasons, the town council have said there will be no parking for the event on verges, junctions and residential estates and civil enforcement officers will be patrolling the event area.

To facilitate access to the beachfront event, the town council have organised a park and ride bus service operating from public car parks in Blyth.

Attendees can purchase special ‘firework return tickets’, which are priced at just £1 per child, £2 per adult, or £5 for a family of up to two adults and three children.

These tickets allow for unlimited travel after 4pm on the day of the event.
