Can you find a hidden war bunker? These UK areas are thought to have the most

A secret army of volunteers agreed to fight the Nazis at home in Britain if they’d successfully invaded in WW2, and experts want the public’s help to find out more

Military historians are looking for help from the public to find out more about the little-known British Auxilliary Units (BAU), which were secretly enlisted to fight short and violent guerilla warfare against occupying Nazi soldiers in the event that Britain was invaded. The BAU would have operated out of hundreds of underground bunkers spread all over the country, many of which have now been destroyed or lost, and researchers want to track down more of the shelters as well as people whose family members might have enlisted. These are the areas where the most BAU patrols are thought to have been set up, according to the British Resistance Archive.
