Care home steps out to support charity

Residents, relatives and staff at an Ashington care home stepped out for an Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk.

Residents and staff from Woodhorn Park Care Home who took part in the walk.

Woodhorn Park Care Home opened up their walk to the local community who came along to show their support.

The leisurely stroll took place from Ashington to Newbiggin.

During the walk, residents stepped off for refreshments at the local pub and enjoyed a hot meal and an alcoholic beverage whilst the team continued their walk.

Julie Bond, general manger at Woodhorn Park Care Home, said: “At our home we care for a lot of people living with dementia and provide support for them and their families.

“We have a Memory Lane Community, an environment purposely designed to help those with dementia live active and meaningful lives.”
