A good rating for home care services in Northumberland

A charity has impressed inspectors with the quality of its home care services.

Age UK Northumberland has been rated ‘Good’ for its Home Care services.

Age UK Northumberland has been rated ‘Good’ overall rating and across all categories for its Home Care services.

Inspectors from the Care Quality Commission – the independent regulator of health and social care – were delighted with the procedures in place.

Parry Jenkins, head of home care at Age UK Northumberland, said: “We are delighted to receive a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission for our Home Care Services.

“This is a major milestone on our journey to excellence and clear recognition of the significant improvements delivered by our registered manager Carly Fortune, and our excellent case management team.

“As an organisation, we take great pride in ensuring that our customers receive a safe, caring, effective and respectful service and we are investing heavily in our teams to ensure that they are equipped with the training and expertise to deliver the full spectrum of domestic help, personal care and complex medical support.”

Age UK Northumberland works with the community to support older people, their families and carers. Services include information, advice, advocacy, personal care, exercise and falls prevention classes, befriending, lunch clubs and day centres.
