The Glebe Road facility is collecting gifts, as it did for the 2018 appeal.

New gifts still in their packaging are being sought, particularly toys for children aged three and under.

Drop them off at the Paramount reception. The final day for donations is Monday, December 9.

Meanwhile, the gym is one of only six finalists nationwide in the Best Community Gym category for the National Fitness Awards.

Paramount has long been an established part of the fabric of Bedlington and over the last few years, it has really focused on building its presence and impact in the local community.

Its activities include raising more than £5,500 for good causes in the last year alone, wellness events in local middle schools, sponsorship of three grassroots football teams with Bedlington Town FC and sponsorship for the last three years of local professional athletes.

Jim Scott, owner of Paramount Health and Fitness, said: “We have invested a great deal of time and effort into supporting the local community and local causes and we’re thrilled and humbled to be a finalist.

“This achievement is testimony to the hard work of the Paramount team and our amazing members.”

The National Fitness Awards finals will be judged by industry experts, with the gala event to announce the winners being held in Leicester on November 28.
