The 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, based in Northumberland, invited High Sheriff of Northumberland Colonel James Royds to witness the final firing of its Falklands War era Light Guns at the Otterburn training area before they are re-equipped with Multi Launch Rocket Systems.

They were joined by The Mayor of Berwick, Coun Mike Greener, who used to administer the training area and Major Alan Hughes, formerly Coldstream Guards and Parachute Regiment, who first exercised at Otterburn 58 years ago.

It was a nostalgic day for everyone involved.
