Police appeal after suspected hit-and-run in Blyth

Police are appealing for information after a suspected hit-and-run collision in Blyth.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a suspected hit-and-run.

A 52-year-old cyclist needed medical treatment after being hit by a small 50cc motorcycle on Links Road, near the Mermaid car park, just before 1.45pm last Saturday.

Officers nearby were flagged down by witnesses and the cyclist was given medical treatment at the scene but did not require hospital care.

The male driver of the motorcycle fled the area as officers arrived and enquiries to identify and locate him are ongoing.

A number of witnesses have already come forward and investigating officers are reviewing CCTV as part of their enquiries.

However, police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.

The rider, or anyone who witnessed the collision, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 591 20/03/21.
