6. Wallington Hall
Wallington is a country house and gardens about 12 miles west of Morpeth, near the village of Cambo. The estate was owned by the Fenwick family from 1475 until Sir John Fenwick, 3rd Baronet, had financial problems and sold his properties to the Blacketts, a wealthy Newcastle family of mine owners and shipping magnates, in 1688, after which it was almost entirely rebuilt.
