Pictures to focus on a town image

BUDDING photographers are being encouraged to help make 2012 a year to remember in Blyth.

The town council is holding a photography competition for residents.

The competition theme – ‘Blyth Our Town’ – will be for any original photographs taken in the last 12 months which best illustrate Blyth, its people, history and its future.

The competition is free to enter, but submissions are limited to four photographs per person.

Entries should be sent in digital or film format, and will be categorised into under 16s and 16 and over age groups.

A selection of the entries will then be displayed in Blyth later this year.

From this selection, 12 winners will be chosen to be the images used in a 2012 town calendar.

For an entry form and full competition details, contact Paul Taylor, events co-ordinator, Blyth Town Council at Ebor House, Church Street, Blyth.

Alternatively, telephone (01670) 361668 or e-mail

Full details of the proposed 2012 Blyth Town Calendar will be released in November.
