Youngsters were treated to a day of sky high fun.

Nearly 40 budding aviators took part in the free kids’ club hosted at Keel Row Shopping Centre in Blyth.

They were given the chance to make paper aeroplanes and test their efforts by sending them soaring into a target.

Northumberland Libraries senior library assistant, Lorraine Melville, said: “The kids did a brilliant job with their paper aircrafts.

“The competition was fierce and even some of the children’s dads got into the competitive spirit.”

Keel Row Shopping Centre manager, Callum Reid, said: “The event was a great way for kids to enjoy some constructive fun over the summer holidays.

“I would like to thank everyone who came down.”

The workshop was one of five free kids’ clubs being held at the centre over the summer holidays.

Next up is Creation Station who head to the centre on Friday, August 7, from 11am until 2pm, to host a crafty workshop creating funky glasses, unique keyrings, bag hangers and more.
