I am writing to agree wholeheartedly with the article concerning the state of the Seven Oaks play park in Cramlington (News Post Leader, February 20).
Christopher Dorman-O’Gowan’s comments are entirely accurate.
This facility is not fit for purpose and is a disgrace, the play sand, with heaven knows what lurking within, should be completely removed and proper soft surfacing and suitable play equipment installed.
Northumberland County Council’s response that it is inspected and litter picked regularly is just not good enough, a proper refurbishment is required.
How is it that £50,000 is currently being spent on the Northburn play park when this was still in good condition with well thought out equipment and proper soft surfacing.
