The event was a success, with staff and customers baking cakes and serving tea and coffee. The total amount raised was £123.

St Oswald’s Hospice aims to improve quality of life for those in the North East living with an incurable condition, and their families.

The Morpeth branch also contributed to the total raised by Leeds Building Society for the Marie Curie charity, £1,200, through supporting its annual daffodil appeal.

This money will help Marie Curie nurses provide more free care to people living with terminal illnesses in their own homes.
