Poets and aspiring writers are being offered the chance to get new inspiration for their verse and prose.
Three poetry writing workshops with well-known Tynedale poet, Linda France, are taking place at Bellingham Town Hall over the next three weeks on Wednesday, September 30, October 7 and 14.
The ‘Writing from where you are’ sessions will explore how paying attention to your own surroundings and situation can be a springboard for good writing.
Each workshop will look at the rich potential for poetry in close observation and how that can be turned into verse. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a more experienced writer – everyone is welcome to come along and get inspired.
Linda has taught creative writing for many years as well as publishing several acclaimed collections, including ‘The Simultaneous Dress’ and ‘The Toast of the Kit-Kat Club’.
The workshops all take place at Bellingham Town Hall from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, and cost £6 per session or £15 for all three.
To book a place in advance, contact Bellingham Library on 01434 220495.
The workshops are presented by Northumberland Libraries in partnership with Northumberland Arts Development and Hexham Book Festival.
