Officers responded to reports from members of the public and among the items seized was an ‘improvised slingshot’.

A tweet from the Blyth neighbourhood team on Saturday stated: ‘There has been a number of issues with youths in Blyth town centre tonight.

‘Positive action has been taken, with arrests being made. Their behaviour and criminality will not be tolerated in our town.’

Another tweet on Sunday said: ‘The team has tackled further issues of anti-social behaviour by youths in the town centre.

‘We managed to stop a group, take them home and speak to them in front of their parents. They were also issued with dispersal notices not to enter town centre for 24 hours.’
