MP COLUMN: Congratulations to every single member of staff
I was delighted to learn last week that Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has been rated the best in class out of all acute and community hospital trusts in the latest national staff survey.
All NHS trusts in England complete the survey with staff asked to focus on ten themes which provides a detailed view about culture, their well-being, levels of engagement and motivation, equality, safety, and quality of care.
The trust scored the highest nationally in several of these themes including equality, diversity and inclusion, morale, and staff engagement. Safety culture and team working were also rated very highly by staff with the trust performing better than any other.
With more than 11,000 members of staff it is so important that the workforce feels that the trust is well run, and these results certainly demonstrate that to be the case.
This is backed up by the fact that the trust has been rated ‘outstanding’ twice by the independent healthcare regulator and has also recently featured in two prominent publications.
It was ranked second in the country in the Top100 hospitals HealthCheck by Public View and was included in The World’s Best Hospital 2021 produced by NewsWeek and Statista.
The work of the trust was also recently recognised by the Prime Minister when Boris Johnson visited their innovative PPE manufacturing facility in Seaton Delaval.
Blyth Valley and Northumberland are very lucky to be served by such a well-regarded trust and I would like to congratulate every single member of staff.
