A unique art gallery has been created in a supermarket thanks to a group of talented students.
Youngsters at Shanklea Primary School have opened an art gallery in Sainsbury’s in Cramlington, where they have launched their first exhibition.
Called Spring at Shanklea, the exhibition features poetry, masks and pictures done by the pupils, of what spring time means to them.
Three winning designs were chosen from the exhibition, and each received an Easter egg as a prize for their work, which had been donated by Sainsbury’s.
A school spokesman said: “The creative curriculum is an integral part of Shanklea’s curriculum and this gallery will enable the community to share the fabulous work produced by the fabulous children at Shanklea Primary School.
“Apparently the public have been very positive and complimentary about the work shown so far.”
