Youngsters at a south east Northumberland school have taken part in a healthy eating week to learn about the importance of a balanced diet and exercise.
Pupils at Cambois Primary School started each day with a healthy breakfast followed by a ‘wake and shake’ exercise regime.
The youngsters learned about well-being and physical activities including aerobics, gymnastics and cycling.
They rounded off the week by preparing their own healthy lunch, where Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils prepared the dessert of fruit salad and smoothies, and Key Stage 2 pupils made pasta and salad.
Headteacher Marianne Allan said: “The children thoroughly enjoyed the week, especially the ‘wake and shake’ in the morning.
“I particularly loved the healthy lunch the children cooked.”
