Children at Eastlea Primary School have gone the extra mile for this year’s harvest festival.
The school supported two charities this year as a decision couldn’t be made which to choose between them.
Pupils joined the Great African Welly Walk, organised by Farm Africa, which helps eastern African farmers give their children a better start in life.
Eastlea’s deputy head Vicki Stafford said: “It was amazing seeing the whole school walking together around our running track for this fantastic charity.”
The children also presented St Nicholas’ Church in Cramlington with goods for the Cramlington food bank.
Items requested by the bank were collected over a series of weeks and the response was described as “overwhelming”.
