Pupils get DIY skills for school

Youngsters at a Northumberland primary school have been learning about DIY thanks to a local building contractor.

Pupils at Cramlington Village Primary School joined parents and teachers in a community day on Thursday to develop an outdoor forest school area.

The community day is an annual commitment by Lend Lease to support Cramlington Village Primary School (CVPS) – previously the school had a chicken coop built with help and materials from Lend Lease, the main contractor currently building the new Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital just a mile away.

Alison Bell from Lend Lease said: “Community investment is an important part of our ethos and we have been delighted to work with the children and teachers at Cramlington Village Primary School and hope to continue to build the relationship.”
