Students have been given the chance to see how their lives would be if they left school now.
Year 11 pupils at Bedlingtonshire Community High have been working with The Launch Group on preparing themselves for job interviews and how to write CVs.
The students have been working with business company The Launch Group to look at how they can prepare themselves for interviews and applying for jobs.
Assistant head teacher Jamie Bell, said: “The students have been looking at how to write a CV, how to write a covering letter and how to answer interview questions including the use of body language in interviews.
“The students found this extremely beneficial and feel ready for applying for jobs should they choose not to attend sixth form.”
Head of sixth form, Mike Laidlaw, added: “Whilst we would like every student to stay on at 6th form ultimately we realise some will be applying for apprenticeships, it is up to us as a school to help prepare these students to give them the best possible opportunity to succeed.”
One student said: “This session has been really helpful in preparing me for the world of work, I know feel thanks to the help from the launch group that I will be able to interview confidently and put my best impression forward.”
