Puppet show reveals bear necessities

Bedtime stories for children will be told in a puppet show coming to Northumberland this week to help keep youngsters entertained douring the half-term holiday.

West Yorkshire theatre company Freehand Theatre is bringing an updated version of its 1999 show Frogs and Snails and Teddy Bear Tales to Ashington tomorrow and Seaton Delaval the day after.

The play, written by Lizzie Allen and performed by actor and puppeteer Simon Hatfield, is billed as weaving together tales of spring, summer, autumn and winter suitable for children aged three to seven.

It’s on at Ashington Children’s Centre, in Alexandra Road, at 2.30pm tomorrow.

Saturday’s show takes place at 2pm at Seaton Delaval Arts Centre, in Blyth Street.
