I felt I must put pen to paper as I have been registered partially sighted for over 17 years and have been involved and helped by Northumberland County Blind Association, which have done a very good job.
I helped to raise monies to build the centre which was opened by the Queen, and from there we have gone on from strength to strength.
We now find after 19 years that we have lost the contract for rehabilitation for people with sight problems for the over 19s for Northumberland County Council.
We have been to tender and lost. It has gone to a Birmingham company who deal with the deaf.
Northumberland County Council have not answered a lot of questions. Have they something to hide?
There is more to this than meets the eye.
