The park includes climbing towers, spinners, a roundabout, a see-saw, swings, and a new dedicated football compound.

Other works include a new footpath leading to the play park from Western Avenue.

The refurbishment project has been jointly funded by Seaton Valley Council and Northumberland County Council.

Seaton Valley Council chairman Darren Mullen said: “It’s great to see another of our play parks receiving a complete makeover.

“This is the fourth one in the space of 18 months with another one to follow at Deneside in the early summer.

“I hope the young people of the Blyth Street Estate thoroughly enjoy their new park.”
