Shoppers at one Cramlington store can now enjoy more choice.

The Aldi store in the town re-opened following a significant refurbishment and extension.

Bosses made the decision to extend the store due to increasing popularity and customer demand.

The new-look 1,254sqm store is part of Aldi’s £300m investment into improving its outlets across the UK.

New features include improved chillers and freezers, with a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store; increased space dedicated to fresh, British meat products; relocation of fresh bakery items to the final aisle so products do not get squashed under shopping; relocation of beers, wines and spirits into a dedicated fixture along the back wall, showcasing Aldi’s award-winning products; and a dedicated section full of award-winning health and beauty products.

There is also the Specially Selected range and weekly fresh meat offers.

Store manager Phil Clarke said: “It was great to welcome both new and familiar faces into our Cramlington store.

“We have been really busy behind the scenes to ensure the extension offers our customers an enhanced experience whilst offering even more quality products at fantastic prices.

“The team and I are really excited to welcome shoppers into the new-look store oand we hope they really enjoy everything it has to offer.”

The store, in Cumbrian Road, is open from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
