Families were joined by Superhero VIPs to celebrate a fundraising partnership.
Frankie and Benny’s restaurant in Cramlington supports Rays of Sunshine, a children’s charity which grants wishes for seriously ill children.
Among those were Rachel Hooley, 12, from Cramlington, who has undergone a heart transplant. She was joined by her family for a complimentary lunch after her wish to go to Disneyland Paris was granted.
Frankie & Benny’s hosted a range of heroic fundraising activities in the restaurant, including children’s activities, games and prizes.
Nick McMahon, Cramlington general manager, said: “We had a super time fundraising for Rays of Sunshine.”
“It was an absolute pleasure to invite Rachel and her family in to the restaurant to join in on the fun.
“The entire team really got behind the event, dressing up as their favourite superhero and encouraging customers to get involved. We’re so proud to help fund magical wishes for seriously ill children, just like Rachel.”
Our customers are mostly families with children, so it’s great to be able to entertain them as well as help raise money for a cause we know they really care about.”
Jane Sharpe, CEO of Rays of Sunshine, added: “We’re so grateful to all of the staff at Cramlington Frankie & Benny’s for hosting such a fantastic fundraising weekend and inviting Rachel and her family along to enjoy a free meal.
“The money raised will help us fund magical wishes for brave and deserving children, just like Rachel, for which we can’t be more thankful.”
Eve, Rachel’s mother, added: “We had the best time at Frankie & Benny’s in Cramlington. The General Manager and all the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. They were all so smiley. We have never laughed so much.”
