Road closure in Blyth after pedestrian hit by car

South Newsham Road remains closed between the roundabout and the railway crossing.

Emergency services were called out to Blyth earlier this afternoon following a report that a female pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The incident happened at about 1.30pm on South Newsham Road. This road remains closed between the roundabout and the railway crossing.

The woman, 83, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Inquiries into the incident are on-going and anyone who witnessed the collision should call police on 101 – quoting log 552 of 23/02/18.
