Roads closed in Blyth for Freedom parade
Roads will be closed temporarily in Blyth tomorrow as troops march into town to receive the Freedom of Northumberland.
The marching route from the Quayside, along Bridge Street/Waterloo Road as far as Church Street, will be closed as men and women from the 101st (Northumbrian) Regiment Royal Artillery march into the Market Place.
The rolling road closure will be in effect from about noon for 20 minutes and will immediately re-open as the march goes past.
The Freedom is the county's highest civic honour and local people are encouraged to show their support for the troops by turning out to celebrate and give them a warm welcome.
High Street car park and part of the Quayside will be closed off at 8pm tonight to allow access to the military and their vehicles tomorrow morning.
Spectators are asked to get into town early and anyone who can avoid bringing a vehicle into town is asked to do so.
